Importing goods into the UAE means coordinating a supplier abroad, a shipping line or airline, customs, and transport at both ends. If one link is missed, goods can wait at the port, costs rise and your customers wait longer. Belsped Shipping manages import logistics into Dubai and the UAE as one service, so your cargo moves smoothly from the supplier to your door.
We support traders, retailers, manufacturers, contractors and online sellers, importing raw materials, finished goods, machinery and spare parts by sea, air and road. Our team plans the shipment, prepares for clearance before the goods arrive, and delivers them to your warehouse, store or site anywhere in the UAE.
Our Import Logistics Services
- Supplier pick-up: collection from your supplier through our partner agents, using EXW, FOB or other Incoterms.
- Consolidation: goods from several suppliers combined into one shipment to save cost.
- Sea, air and road freight: FCL, LCL and air cargo into the UAE, and trucking from GCC countries.
- Customs clearance: import declarations, duty and VAT, and release of the goods. See customs clearance.
- Approvals for regulated goods: food, cosmetics and other goods that need approval are handled through our Dubai Municipality clearance service.
- Delivery order and port release: collection of the delivery order from the shipping line and release of the container.
- Delivery and de-stuffing: delivery to your premises, container unloading, and the return of empty containers.
- Storage: short- or long-term warehouse storage if you are not ready to receive the goods.
Duty and VAT on Imports
Most goods imported into the UAE pay the standard GCC customs duty of 5% of the CIF value, which is the cost of the goods plus insurance and freight. Import VAT at 5% also applies. Some goods are exempt or charged at other rates, and some need a permit before they can be cleared. We explain the duty and VAT for your shipment before it is shipped, so you can plan your costs.
Documents Usually Needed for Import
| Document | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Commercial invoice | Shows the supplier, buyer, goods, value and origin |
| Packing list | Lists the packages, contents and weights |
| Bill of lading or air waybill | The transport document for the shipment |
| Certificate of origin | Confirms where the goods were made |
| Permits or approvals | Needed for restricted or regulated goods |
Commercial importers also need a valid trade licence and customs registration. We review your documents while the goods are in transit, so any problem can be fixed before they arrive.
